Construction begins for Sunna’s first solar park in Gislaved

Sunna Group, a fast growing actor in large-scale solar power and renewable energy, is today pleased to announce that the construction of the company’s first solar park has begun. The 15 MW plant is located outside Gislaved in Jönköping County.

The solar park, called Project Skogsmusen, will be one of the largest in the region and is expected to generate 15 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy annually. This is equivalent to the annual consumption of household electricity for more than 3,000 homes.

Svea Solar has started the piling work in the future park outside Gislaved.

“We are very happy to start the construction of our first solar park outside Gislaved,” says Marcus Qviberg, CEO of Sunna Group. “For us as a company, this is a great day and an important first step towards our goal of building a gigawatt of solar energy in the coming years.”

To realize the project, Sunna has chosen to collaborate with Svea Solar, one of the industry’s leading providers of construction of solar parks.

“Having Svea Solar as a partner for the construction of the solar park feels great. We believe that their solid experience in implementing solar energy projects and their expertise will be crucial to ensure a smooth and efficient construction process.” Marcus Qviberg continues.

During the past week, project managers and representatives from both Sunna and Svea Solar have been on site for the start of construction on Monday.

Anna Tikhonova, project manager from Svea Solar and Linnea Johansson, project manager at Sunna Group.

“This is a good example of companies coming together to drive the energy transition. This solar park makes a major contribution to the electricity grid in Gislaved and is expected to provide household electricity for about 3,000 homes,” says Magnus Bergqvist, sales manager for solar parks at Svea Solar.

Construction of the solar park will take place during the summer, and commissioning is planned for the beginning of next year. The solar park will be connected to the local electricity grid together with the municipal electricity grid company Gislaved Energi and contribute to increasing the supply of renewable energy in the local area.
